Scratch Sunday's post!

Today was my first official day of my orientation/internship. Monday morning I woke up so ill that I had to head back to the doctor's to get even more meds! Good news though. There are actually working this time.

I woke up this morning and made myself the most unhealthy oatmeal I've ever eaten complete with milk, vanilla coffee creamer, sugar, and cinnamon sugar. Terrible for my body, but just SO GOOD. I topped it off with some grapes on the side, so hopefully that counteracted some of the terribleness. I need to join a gym.

I arrived at my orientation on time, and to my surprise I have my own desk! I'm so excited over this little fact. I want to get decorating it as soon as possible, but I may need some ideas first.

The morning was full of routine paperwork for a new intern (such as myself), and during the later part of the day we visited another city building. I was introduced to a ton of people and I can't remember their names for the life of me (eek!). I have four months to get the whole "face to name" match game on lockdown. Can I do it? Hopefully.

A few things that I did today: I wrote a paragraph about one of the festivals coming up (my manager enjoyed my catchy headline/writing!). I concocted two lists of ideas to generate more traffic to the city's Facebook and Twitter page. I also had to go through one of the websites for a festival and jot down notes on what needed to be fixed/updated/improved/etc.

I'm really excited about this position, but definitely worn out from today. I know things will probably increase in hecticness the closer we get to events/festivals coming up but maybe that's all part of the fun.

By the way, thank you to the lovely people that wished me good luck! It was appreciated and definitely helped me get through the day.

I'm sure everyone is sick of hearing me complain about how terrible I feel.

So, I'll talk about something else: I have my orientation for my internship tomorrow! I'm nervous, excited, and just hoping that I feel good for it. For my outfit, I had a choice to go either business casual or a polo with khakis. I went for the second option, thinking it'd be a little more comfy since I'm not feeling well and would rather just walk around in pjs all day! Close-toed shoes are required which means my Sperrys! I'm going to keep my jewelry REALLY simple because I don't want to be distracted or annoyed with it.

In my interview, my manager had told me that there would probably be another intern brought on. I'm excited to see who that might be and potentially make a new friend. Wish me luck for tomorrow!

We knew this was coming.

Leaving day. Summer has pretty much come to an end and my boyfriend has packed up and shipped out this morning back to school. The sadness of that mixed with being sick is not a good combo. I need to keep myself distracted, but how can I do that when I'm limited to being sick in my bed?

I guess that means that it's time that I finally upload the photos from our vacation. A few of the things we did: went to a really cute southern diner, fishing, went to a butterfly garden, went to a veggie garden, zip lining, hit up a farmer's market (which was so cute!) and just overall enjoyed the time together before summer's end. The only things I want to point out from the photos is that

  1. I was definitely dressed for vacay, so no cute outfits. Sorry!
  2. The ziplining picture doesn't really do the activity justice. It was the final zipline that you endured before you were safely back on the ground.
  3. These are only from the first two days, before everything went downhill health-wise!

I came back from Georgia Saturday evening as planned.

Along with the t shirt I purchased, I also brought home another type of souvenir. A NASTY COLD. How I managed to get sick on vacation I'll never know. I'm feeling pretty miserable, but as soon as my health starts inclining I'll be back to posting and there will be pictures up from the trip (well, from the first two days before my body decided to turn against me). I see I've gained a couple of new followers, so I'd like to take this time to say hi and thank you for very much for following <3. Let's hope this sickness passes soon, because I'm so beyond over it.

There's nothing quite like a new pair of shoes.

I received these new babies today! They're the MIA Botticelli in "natural snake" (click here if you'd like your own pair!). Originally when I tried these on in the store, I opted for the brown ones because I had no idea they came in this color. After researching a bit, I found them in the above color and for an AMAZING deal on Amazon (a total of $26 with shipping and all!). I'm a happy girl right now.

I leave in the morning for a vacation with my boyfriend! We're heading out bright and early to Georgia. The time spent should be amazing, and I'm really looking forward to our first real vacation together. Of course I still haven't packed yet. For some reason I like stressing myself out until the absolute last minute until packing can just wait no longer.

Anyone following me on Twitter will get real-time updates, but there won't be any posts on here until at least Saturday night when I come back. I'll be sure to take tons of photos. :)

Have a great week everyone!

It's quite possible that I have a disease.

It's nothing that I can go to a doctor for either.

I'm constantly looking for new ways to organize my belongings. Whether it be clothes, shoes, sunglasses, or my latest organized item: jewelry. More specifically, my rings. Previously, I had them hung on my jewelry tree that I purchased from Urban Outfitters. I didn't mind that idea, but sometimes my rings hung awkwardly and not in the best positions. I would also keep some of my less decorative rings in a jewelry box that my boyfriend bought for me, but the problem with that was I wouldn't wear them as much because they weren't in plain sight.

I wanted all of my rings in one designated area that was aesthetically pleasing at the same time. My solution? A glass bowl.

This bowl is courtesy of my grandma! I may take some time out and decorate it a bit, but then again I like the simplicity of it. Hm.

Here's what everything looks like together:

For anyone that might want to purchase the jewelry tree from UO, click here for the product page! It's truly a great investment.

I know that for me, having my jewelry displayed and out in the open makes me more apt to wear it because I'm able to see what I have.

If you haven't seen Friends With Benefits yet, go see it.

Like, right now. It's another spin on the classic problems that two people face when they decide they want to try going down the strictly physical route. Compared to No Strings Attached it's definitely a little more realistic to the situation I'd say (not hating on NSA. I loved that movie too!). FWB will keep you laughing and waiting to see what happens next! I hadn't seen Mila Kunis in any major role in a movie before this one and I have to say that I want to see her in more! Justin Timberlake is... well, he's Justin Timberlake. So what bad can you really say? Minus the fact that he hasn't released music in quite some time, but I know we're all together in needing that void filled.
